The following resources are posted to help juniors and seniors navigate their futures after high school.


FAFSA

An integral piece to financial aid and many scholarship applications is completing your FAFSA application. FAFSA stands for, Free Application for Federal Student Aid. In order to receive any federally based grants or loans for college, you’ll need to first complete the FAFSA. Parents/guardians and students will need create their own FSA-ID and fill this out together as a section of the application deals with household finances.

Scholarships

UH Hilo Chancellor’s Scholarship

The Chancellor Scholarship is a prestigious award created for graduates from Hawaiʻi High Schools that covers four years of tuition.

Application Deadline – Apply by March 1st.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Accepted by UH Hilo
  • Graduating from a Hawaiʻi high school
  • Bona fide resident of Hawaiʻi
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Personal Essay
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or community service

Application Requirements

All of the above must be received by March 1.

Hawaii Community Foundation

The Hawaii Community Foundation provides a “common application” for over 200 locally based scholarships. This application opens in Novermber 2022 and usually closes around the end of January. This is a great scholarship resource, make sure to fill this one out!
