2027 National Merit Scholarship Award for Commended Student: Kekoa Costales
Starboard Scholarship
Aloha school families, We’re excited to share that applications are now open for the Lands’ End School Starboard Scholarship program. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students who demonstrate leadership, service, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their school and community. Up to five (5) scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded. Please see the attached information for program details, eligibility requirements, scholarship information, and application instructions. The state of Hawaii has had a Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship winner for the past two consecutive years, with recent winners representing Hawaii Baptist Academy and Maui Preparatory Academy. It would be great to have one awarded to a CLA family!
Pauahi Scholarship
Applications for Pauahi Foundation scholarships (for the 2027–2028) school year open on October 1, 2026 and close on December 1, 2026. Preschool scholarships (through Kahapua‘ohai) are available for keiki born in 2021, 2022, or 2023. Likewise, Hūlili scholarships are available for students who will be entering 6th or 9th grades. One requirement for these scholarships is that the student either be enrolled in—or have applied to—a qualifying private school (like Christian Liberty). This certainly includes our CLA ʻohana. However, if you know eligible families who might be interested in our school—but who aren’t sure if they can make it work financially—please encourage them to apply both to CLA and for a Pauahi scholarship. The $500 referral credit applies, so if they end up attending CLA, the family that referred them gets a $500 tuition discount.
