THE CLA WORKERS PLEDGE - CODE OF ETHICS
I believe that everyday is a gift from God. I will choose to live out each day thankful for the opportunities that it affords.
I believe that I am endowed by God with certain unalienable rights. Which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I’m entitled to nothing else. I also understand that “happiness” and the “pursuit of happiness” are not the same thing.
I believe there is no such thing as a “bad job.” I believe that all jobs have purpose and are opportunities, and it’s up to me to make the best of them.
I believe that any job can be done with passion and enthusiasm.
I believe that my education is my responsibility, and absolutely critical to my success. I am resolved to learn as much as I can from whatever source is available to me. I will never stop learning, and understand that access to all the knowledge in the world is in the palm of my hand.
I believe that I am a product of my choices in my particular circumstances. I will never blame anyone for my shortcomings or the challenges I face. And I will never accept the credit for something I didn’t do.
I understand the world is not fair, and I’m OK with that. I do not resent the success of others.
I believe the best way to distinguish myself at work is to demonstrate the “ethics” acronym:
E – Efficient Work – Done to the best of my ability without waste.
T – Timely Work – Time is the most valuable resource I have. I will not waste the time that I have in my work nor the valuable money that is being paid to me per hour. I will show up early to work and will be willing to stay until the job is done. I will use days off for what they were intended and will take advantage of leave.
H – Honorable Work – I will endeavor to present myself in a professional manner in appearance, personal hygiene, and in communication with customers and other businesses.
I – Integrity Work – I will work all day even when unsupervised.
I will be trust trustworthy and will not steal time or materials from my employers or fellow employees.
C – Considerate Work – Be pleasant, encouraging, and helpful to my employers and fellow employees, no matter how I am treated by others. I will not be a complainer or a sower of discord.
S – Safety Work – I will be an employee that prides themself in personal care so I come to work rested and energized to do the task that is set before me. I believe that my safety is my responsibility. I understand that being in “compliance” does not necessarily mean I’m out of danger. I will understand the safety procedures for my position and what my responsibilities are to protect those around me.
